Library User Guide: Study Room Policies

To inform patrons on the Law Library's user policies and procedures.

Study Rooms

There are 18 study rooms in the library. There are 16 individual and 1 group study room located on the basement floor level. There is 1 small group study room located on the first floor. All study rooms must be reserved by using our online reservation system.

  • Individual Study Room
    • Designed for 1 person; Maximum capacity of 2 people
  • Small Group Study Room
    • Capacity of 2-4 people
    • Equipped with a whiteboard, table, and drawers
  • Large Group Study Room
    • Maximum capacity of 10 people
    • Equipped with whiteboard, a bookcase, table, and chairs

Reservation Policies

  • All study rooms require a reservation! Rooms may be reserved by current TSU students, faculty, and staff. 
  • Reservations can be made through the library's website “Reserve A Study Room” button or by scanning the QR code on the study room’s door. 
  • Rooms can be reserved for 2 hours at a time, with a maximum of 4 hours per day if available. 
  • Reply to the confirmation email. 
  • Reservations will be cancelled if the booking is not confirmed within 15 minutes of start time.

Study Room Policies

  • All study rooms must be reserved by using our online reservation system.
    • Use the QR code on the study room door or the “Reserve A Study Room” button on the Law Library’s webpage to reserve a study room.
  • Rooms can be reserved for 2 hours at a time, with a maximum of 4 hours per day if available.
  • Study rooms cannot be reserved more than 24 hours in advance.
  • All study rooms will be aQuiet Zone” with whispered conversations being allowed.

  • Only acceptable food and beverages in approved containers are allowed. Snacks and covered drinks only.
    • NO hot, smelly, wet or “messy” food in the library study rooms. This includes all fast foods.
    • Please consume meals outside of the library.
  • Personal items left in the study rooms will be removed.
  • Nothing should be placed on the study room windows or walls, posted items will be removed.
  • Library furniture should not be moved.

Faculty/ Organizations Reservations

Faculty members or student organizations that need the study rooms for a specific purpose may reserve study rooms by contacting the Circulation Librarian, Patrina Epperson-Emmanuel at (713) 313-1011 or email Patrina. Epperson@tmslaw.tsu.edu.
